Scholarships and grants are vital means of support for culinary school students from all walks of life. These financial awards allow learners who want to pursue their dreams of becoming proficient in the culinary and baking and pastry arts to do so while facing a lower level of financial stress.
This is important on a purely practical level, as students simply don’t have to save or earn as much money to gain their diploma or Associate Degree. It also allows students to focus more fully on their education, reducing the time spent working before or during their time as a student. Let’s look at the many scholarship and grant options available to those who qualify through the Auguste Escoffier School of Culinary Arts (AESCA).
AESCA’s scholarships and grants for baking and pastry and culinary arts students
The broad range of scholarship and grant options we offer those who qualify helps students find the type of financial support that best aligns with their needs and status, such as being a veteran or single parent. We’ll pay up to $1 million in awards to students in 2019, which means you have many opportunities to find the right scholarship for you. One important thing to remember is students cannot exceed the overall scholarship maximum of $7,500 in a residential or online diploma program or $15,000 in a residential or online Associate Degree program.
Competitive Culinary Arts Scholarships
Any student who competes in a food-related event sponsored by the national student organizations Family, Career and Community Leaders of America, ProStart® and SkillsUSA is eligible to earn a scholarship. These are available whether learners compete at the national, state or regional level, and all participants earn a baseline of $500 for entering. You can see the individual award breakdowns and more details, including how to submit proof of a competition award, on our scholarship information page.
Institutional Scholarships
Institutional scholarships offer a variety of awards based on categories including children and spouses of veterans, industry grants, single parent grants, alumni status and the Passion Award. You can learn more by getting in touch with us to access scholarship applications.
Student Veteran Scholarship
All students who qualify for Veterans Benefits from a branch of the U.S. Armed Forces are eligible for the Veterans Scholarship without completing the Federal Application for Federal Student Aid. This scholarship can be used for any institutional expense, not just tuition.
